The music lesson for the day:
the Smiths were a melodic pop band from the late 80s and early 90s who sang about unusual and miserable topics tunefully.
I was looking for a job and then I found a job and heaven knows I'm miserable now. In my life, why do I give valuable time to people who don't care if I live or die?
The Smiths said it best.

I have been working two part time jobs since October and I have a master's degree from a highly ranked program in my field of study. Technically, I qualify for high ranking teaching/administrative positions, but I am not there! I have suffered some persecution from family and friends as a result of my decision to take a low paying position, but as a whole, I am happier because I am pulling in some income and I love my little job.
Perhaps taking a small step and finding a part time job with regular hours to bring in some income may be one way to rebuild your confidence. You can continue your search for a better position (who isn't?) and slowly build up your checking account.
I have been your e-pal for awhile and I think that it is time to ask you a difficult question: are you going to take control of your situation or are you going to continue to blame others for holding you back?
My personal life has not been a walk in the park. But I think that one day at a time, you will hopefully begin to look forward and listen to God's voice.
Email me if you need anything.
Thanks for the comment Emily. You may choose to see it as *me* blaming others. In Why Students Are Mean, Gina confessed that they were mea to me on purpose. Is it my fault that he economy sucks and teaching jobs are beng eliminated? No. The Smiths gave voice to stuff that no one else sang about and they did it with style. Morrisey had a great voice.
I think I see what is missing. I have to update this blog on what I am doing work-wise.
No, it is not your fault that the economy sucks and that positions get eliminated, but the onus is on you to do what you can to bring in some income and to look forward, and not back.
Yes, of course, but if I run into one of my former students or run across a cool Smiths song, it's going on my blog.
Did you listen to the song?
